Frequently Asked Questions
Symphony Pools has collated some FAQs that we regularly come across – scroll down to view the answers.
What type of work do you do?
We specialize in the custom creation of luxury pools and spas. This can include other elements of outdoor living design such as landscaping and hardscaping, like fire pits, outdoor kitchens, BBQ structures, walling, fencing, patio overhangs, and much more. We’re also happy to remodel existing pools and spas upon request.
Do you have any experience with caissons or friction piles?
Some hillside pools will require the building of caissons or friction piles. With over 40 years of experience, Symphony Pools is an expert in the field of crafting hillside pools and spas.
Once the contract is signed and the deposit and permit have been arranged, how long does it take to construct a pool from the point of digging?
Every single project we take on is custom-designed and built for each client. As such, it’s difficult to give an exact answer regarding how long a pool will take to construct, though generally, it’s in the range of 2 – 3 months depending on complexity. We advise you ask the team working on your project for a more specific answer.
What is the average size of a swimming pool/spa?
In our experience, a standard size swimming pool is 15 feet wide by 30 feet long, and a standard spa, 7 feet by 7 feet. Of course, we are able to custom-build a variety of pool sizes depending on your requirements, setbacks and any city requirements.
What is the average price for a swimming pool/spa?
Since every project is different, contact us for a free no-obligation quote.
Is my backyard big enough to construct a pool and/or spa?
The simple answer to this question is yes! We can build a swimming pool or outdoor living space just about anywhere, including on friction piles and caissons. Even if access is tight, we can hand-dig pools, crane in Bobcat tractors, or even use helicopters if needed. Be sure to check the zoning and setback requirements in your city, or simply chat with us to discuss your ideas.
What type of financing is available?
Although we don’t offer any in-house financing ourselves, we are happy to refer lenders who specialize in pool and spa loans. Please reference our dedicated financing page for more detail.
How long does it take to pull permits?
Every city and location across the LA and Ventura Counties operates differently. Give us a call or contact your local Department of Building & Safety for more information. Some cities may even provide same-day or over the counter permits for pool construction projects.
